Poverty is rampant in the United States. In fact, only a couple of years ago there were more than 37 million people that were living at or below the poverty level according to the US Census Bureau. In the seven years from 2000 to 2007, 6 million people were added to the poverty list. We like to think of the United States as well off, but in fact there are millions of Americans struggling to find food to eat and a shelter to live under.
