The window shades are opened and closed with either a continuous cord loop or a spring lift mechanism. You don’t have a dangling pull to get in the way or get worn out and lost. These types of shade controls are safer and easier to use than traditional pulls.
A beaded chain is an attractive alternative to loops or pulls cords. They offer strong control and are decorative. Beaded chains disappear from sight and do not offer a tempting dangling toy for pets. They also don’t get into tangled knots on the floor. When operating a vacuum cleaner, there are no cords to get sucked up into the hose. Spring load releases are not like the old designs that most people think of when considering shade operation. Decorative pulls are attractive to see and offer better control for raising and lowering the window shades.
Today’s roller shades have an elegant look. They look beautiful whether protecting from the sun’s rays or in the up position. For privacy or accent, shades offer a durable alternative to old-fashioned window coverings.
